OF DOMESTIC ABUSE STARTS IN PREGNANCY

Dedicated services for black and ethnic minorities

Many survivors who are black or from an ethnic minority community can face extra barriers and prejudice that that make it harder to get support with domestic abuse.

We ensure our services are inclusive and have a dedicated black women’s safe house, a specialist IDVA, staff with experience supporting those who have experienced ‘Honour’ Based abuse or Forced Marriage, and children’s services.

These specialist workers provide culturally sensitive one to one support to survivors, whilst also working within communities to shine a light on domestic abuse and improve referral pathways to support. Survivors can also access our culturally appropriate counselling services delivered by Nilaari.
