DOMESTIC ABUSE HAS A HIGHER RATE OF REPEAT VICTIMISATION THAN ANY OTHER CRIME

Safe House for women with extra support needs

Many survivors have mental ill health needs due to the abuse that has been inflicted upon them. Some survivors may use alcohol or drugs to cope with the abuse.

This is our specialist safe house for women with these additional support needs. This house is staffed 24-hours, seven days a week. Bristol Drugs Project also have a worker based in the house.

The aim of this service is to help women escape from abusive relationships and access the treatment they need to build new positive lives for themselves.

During their stay women will have a flexible support plan including help to engage with treatment and/or mental health services, stabilising their life style, offending, building confidence, life skills and training. Support includes counselling, one to one, peer support, group activities and practical skills sessions.
