Relevant and effective support

All Next Link Domestic Abuse Services come under the umbrella of Missing Link.

In 1999 Bristol Next Link was commissioned by Bristol City Council to provide the domestic abuse services for women and children in the city. Since then the services have expanded beyond Bristol into South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

In 2022 we were recommissioned by Bristol City Council to provide the domestic abuse services in the city. In 2017 we were commissioned by South Gloucestershire Council and in 2020 North Somerset Council to provide the domestic abuse services across both counties.

Services we offer

We provide a range of domestic abuse support services to women, men and children. These include safe houses, children and young people’s services, dedicated services for survivors who are black or from a minoritised community, dedicated services for LGBTQ+ survivors, group work, resettlement and outreach services, and a crisis response service.

Survivors, professionals and concerned friends and family can contact us by telephone, e-mail, text or live chat to get help and support from our duty team. Survivors are asked about their situation, what they want to happen next, if they have children with them, what areas of the city are unsafe for them and whether they want a safe house or one of our community or dedicated services. We carry out a DASH risk assessment with everyone and if appropriate refer to the Domestic Violence MARAC.

We also offer families face to face and telephone advice.

Next Link is the lead provider of the Next Link Plus partnership in Bristol, which also includes Nilaari, Off the Record, 1625 Independent People, Bristol Drugs Project, Sign Health, Victim Support and St Mungo’s.
