Assessing for Domestic Violence and Abuse in Sexual Health Environments (IRIS ADViSE)

Women affected by Domestic Abuse are 3 times more likely to have problems with their sexual health, and sexual health staff can often be the first point of contact for a victim.

After taking part in an initial mixed method pilot study in 2017, we were awarded funding to extend the pilot in 2022. Our specialist Domestic and Sexual Violence advocate-educators train and support sexual health clinicians to recognise domestic and sexual abuse, and refer their patients to our service.
