FAMILIES SUPPORTED LAST YEAR

Short Term Intensive Crisis Support

This innovative service offers intensive short-term support to survivors who are at high risk of harm from domestic abuse and need crisis support. They may also be threatened with homelessness because they feel they have no option but to leave the violent home.

This service responds the same day and will assist survivors to access emergency legal remedies to help them stay in her own home and extra security in the home to keep the family safe.

The worker will support the survivor to meet with a solicitor and escort them to court.

When it is not safe to stay, the worker will find safer accommodation within the city or outside of Bristol.

The support is offered for 4 weeks and then, if appropriate, the family is referred to the resettlement service or other Next Link services.

There is also a dedicated Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advisor for survivors who face multiple disadvantage such as substance misuse, offending or mental ill health needs, and a specialist worker who supports those at risk of ‘Honour’ Based Violence and/or Forced Marriage.
